Celebrate “Creek Week” 2025! Sign up today to help keep your favorite park or greenway clean and healthy by picking up litter! A great way to spend a couple of hours at lunchtime by getting outdoors and helping in your community.
On this date Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation will partner with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services to conduct an “extended” cleanup of the Little Sugar Creek stream; as well as picking up litter along the Greenway. “Keep Charlotte Beautiful” will also be represented, to take a team on the surrounding neighborhood streets!
PARKING: Use the East Boulevard entrance to Freedom Park, listed below – continue to the Stop sign, turn left and park in the large lot to the RIGHT just past the soccer fields.
Volunteers should plan to bring their own gloves and water supply, and dress appropriately for the weather. Extra gloves will be available; and litter pickers and trash bags are provided.
If you have questions, or if you have a group who would like to help on a different day, please contact the Park & Recreation Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] or 980-314-1046 (office). Learn more here.
