Creek Week Kickoff

Kickoff the 7th annual “Creek Week!” On this date, Park & Recreation partners with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water and Keep Charlotte Beautiful to conduct a combined Greenway, Stream and Street litter cleanup!

Volunteers will be able to choose how they would like to help: in the Stream, on the Greenway, or on the surrounding neighborhood streets – in this huge effort to care for our precious waterways and our whole environment! 

*PARKING is limited at the Greenway entrance – please plan to park in the Independence Square Shopping Center, 7211 E Independence Blvd, 28227 – in the lot closest to Margaret Wallace Road; then walk to the Greenway. Watch for signs! 

Please plan to arrive early, so that we can check in volunteers, divide into Stream (in the water), Street and Greenway teams, and review safety instructions. 

• Volunteers should plan to bring their own work gloves (extras will be available) and water supply. 
• Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (REQUIRED, NO sandals, Crocs or flip-flops!)
• Anyone under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult!
• Each Volunteer must sign up individually in order to acknowledge their review of and agreement with the Volunteer Waiver and Safety Guidelines – READ and click to acknowledge in your response. An adult must acknowledge for anyone under the age of 18.
