DESCRIPTION:Celebrate “Creek Week” 2025! Sign up today to help keep your favorite park or greenway clean and healthy by picking up litter! A great way to spend a couple of hours at lunchtime by getting outdoors and helping in your community. \nOn this date Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation will partner with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services to conduct an “extended” cleanup of the Little Sugar Creek stream; as well as picking up litter along the Greenway. “Keep Charlotte Beautiful” will also be represented\, to take a team on the surrounding neighborhood streets!  \nPARKING: Use the East Boulevard entrance to Freedom Park\, listed below – continue to the Stop sign\, turn left and park in the large lot to the RIGHT just past the soccer fields.  \nVolunteers should plan to bring their own gloves and water supply\, and dress appropriately for the weather. Extra gloves will be available; and litter pickers and trash bags are provided. \n\nWear long pants and closed-toe shoes – REQUIRED! If you plan to participate in the STREAM cleanup\, some waders will be available – or plan to wear waterproof boots. \nVolunteers must be at least 10 years old. Anyone under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult!\nEach Volunteer must sign up individually in order to acknowledge their review of and agreement with the Volunteer Waiver/Photo Release and Safety Guidelines – READ and click to acknowledge in your response. DESCRIPTION:Kickoff the 7th annual “Creek Week!” On this date\, Park & Recreation partners with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water and Keep Charlotte Beautiful to conduct a combined Greenway\, Stream and Street litter cleanup! \nVolunteers will be able to choose how they would like to help: in the Stream\, on the Greenway\, or on the surrounding neighborhood streets – in this huge effort to care for our precious waterways and our whole environment!  \n*PARKING is limited at the Greenway entrance – please plan to park in the Independence Square Shopping Center\, 7211 E Independence Blvd\, 28227 – in the lot closest to Margaret Wallace Road; then walk to the Greenway.
